I was thinking up ideas for a recent graduation party and thought Ramen would make a perfect addition, but instead of making it in normal form… I turned it into a ramen cake, served up in ramen bags! It was a fun twist and great for a outdoor summer party.

Ramen cake in a bag recipe.

Ramen is a traditional broke college kid meal, so featuring it at our graduation party seemed just right.

You can follow the ramen cake recipe I’ve included in this post and do it as a big cake instead of cutting it up for the bags. The bags just felt like a fresh way to serve the treat and all the teens got a kick out of it.

This recipe is designed specifically to be served in the Top Ramen bags, because it’s so fun!

You can adjust it to create a version of this cake as a stacked cake, a sheet cake, really anyway you want to serve it up.

Ingredients

  • 4 Bags Top Ramen Minus the seasoning
  • 1 Loaf Cake Use your favorite recipe, or purchase pre-baked for a quick party cake.
  • 3 Cups Buttercream Frosting

Instructions

  • Start by cutting the Ramen bags across the top to keep them in tack for serving later. Remove the Top Ramen and discard the seasoning packet.
  • Place the Top ramen in a plastic bag and crush into very small pieces.
  • Cut the loaf cake into serving pieces and stack with frosting and the Ramen. I found about 4 layers high is perfect for serving up in your Ramen bags for a fun party treat table.
  • Slice the stack into 4 sections, carefully place each section into one of the Top Ramen bags.
  • Top with a little extra frosting and a sprinkle of Ramen, serve with a spoon for easy summer party cake in a bag eating.

Notes

  • Note you can bake your own loaf cake at home if desired, or use store bought for a quick cake pull together.
  • Any flavor frosting will work, although I think the Buttercream compliments the  ramen taste perfectly.

Ingredients

The best part of the cake is the frosting and sprinkling of the ramen between the layers. It gives it a sweet crunch, think of how much you love potato chips in a sandwich and it’s that same idea.

Whether you whip up a ramen cake for a graduation party food or a teen boy birthday or just because you happen to love Ramen! Everyone will ask the same question. Is it really good? Yes! We all loved it.
