This no-bake ghost cake might just be the easiest dessert you put together all year.

My ghost Halloween party theme is so fun because it is both kid- and adult-friendly, and this bake-less cake adds a dessert spunk to any ghostly theme in under 10 minutes, using store-bought cakes for an “easy button” option for my dessert table.

How to stack a ghost cake

I opted for angel food cake because it is more stable and less crumbly than a traditional sheet cake.

You will be stacking two angel food cakes and one cupcake to make this ghost cake form.

With the amount of frosting we use in this recipe, you will find that angel food cake complements it best. Add mushed-up berries for a Halloween twist on your traditional angel food cake pairings.

Equipment

  • 1 Cake Knife

Ingredients

  • 2 Angel Food Cakes
  • 1 Vanilla Cupcake
  • 3 Tubs Vanilla Frosting
  • 2 Containers Black Frosting

Instructions

  • Start by removing your angel cakes from their container. Stack each angel food cake on top of each-other to create a tower.
  • Add your cupcake to the top if your angel food cake tower.
  • Once your cakes are stacked. Begin frosting your cake tower with your vanilla frosting. You may find it helpful to freeze your cake for a few minutes between frosting layers.
  • Continue frosting until your ideal domed ghost like shape is achieved.
  • To add your black ghost eyes, take your black frosting and begin to outline two ovals onto your ghost shape.
  • Place into fridge until ready to serve to allow frosting layers to set.

Pro Tip: Freezing your frosting in between layers will allow for buildable coverage and fewer crumbs in your finished ghost.

I opted for oval eyes for our Ghost, which gives it a fun, friendly feel. I recommend outlining your ghost’s eyes with black icing before filling each eye to ensure they are the same size.

No Bake Halloween Treat

Add an easy, cute Halloween costume to match this cake’s vibes.

Grab a sheet and a pair of your favorite sunglasses or a hat to create a fun last-minute Halloween costume. Simply place the sheet over your head and glasses over your eyes.

I loved this floral sheet for a girly ghost costume!
