Twinkies are wonderfully nostalgic to me. I remember the treats as a kid, and decided a Twinkie cake would be a fun way to celebrate our recent nostalgic birthday party.

Since you can surround any cake with Twinkies to get this fun cake look, the recipe idea works for home-baked cakes as well as store-bought ones.
Twinkies taste so great that I imagined combining them for a huge birthday cake would taste even better…
I love it when my sweet suspicions come out right! 😉

Happy Birthday, never looked so nostalgically good!
Twinkie No-Bake Birthday Cake
To make the nostalgic treat birthday cake, you will need:
- About 30 Twinkies, unwrapped and ready
- Colorful frosting and sprinkles
- Toothpicks
- Floral foam in a cylinder shape
- Parchment paper
1. To make the bottom layers of our cake extra wide, we covered a cylinder shape of floral foam in parchment paper and placed it in the center of the cake stand. This can easily be substituted for any cake you choose if you aim to serve cake and not just Twinkies as cake at your gathering.
2. Place a toothpick in the backside of each Twinkie cake and poke the other end into the covered cylinder. Go around the cake doing this, then again for the second layer.
3. For the top two layers, place toothpicks 2 per cake towards the sides and poke them through the cake next door.
4. Drip the entire cake in fun frosting, sprinkles, and of course, birthday candles.

This birthday cake is one of the easiest cakes we’ve ever made. Topped with a bright frosting and sprinkles, it will make any 90’s treat-loving birthday wish come true.
Bonus: You don’t even need to serve it with a knife or forks!
Just pull each Twinkie off the cake to quickly feed a birthday party crowd.

I loved this original Twinkie cake idea so much, I recreated it with less frosting and more layers for our recent nostalgic birthday party cake table.
