Making a huge impact wherever it is placed, this DIY paper cones garland is definitely one of the easiest ways to turn any table into a celebration. I made it for our Thanksgiving table this year.
The paper cones are easy to make, and when they’re all hung together like this, it creates a serious party statement piece.

One thing I look for in a party table centerpiece is a project that comes together in under an hour, is affordable, and brings a huge dose of color and festivity.
These hanging paper cones fit the bill!

Using only scrapbook paper to create the DIY paper cones, a wooden dowel to attach them to, and rope, this project is great for scaling and coordinating any party space to match your style.
Supplies Needed:
- Scrapbook paper in your party colors
- glue or tape
- Wooden dowel
- Rope or ribbon

Paper Cones DIY Instructions
Here’s how I made the paper cone hanging centerpiece:
- Start with a collection of colored scrapbook paper that coordinates with your party space.
- Create the paper cones by carefully wrapping each piece of paper into a cone shape and gluing it closed along the side.
- Starting at the bottom of a wooden dowel, glue one paper cone to the bottom.
- Then begin gluing the cones up and around the dowel, until the centerpiece has the weight and feel that fits your space.
- Finish the top of the cone hanging with a length of rope or ribbon.

I’m loving this look just as it is to center my Thanksgiving table. In reds with ribbon at the top, I think I’ll try it for Christmas as well! Happy decorating.
