For Easter brunch this year I was after a table that could be set with a few whimsical surreal party pieces.
This vegetable candle centerpiece brings all the whimsy of a fairytale onto the tablescape.
It is a creative party look and very easy to create.
Easter table decor that will wow your guests. A veggie centerpiece with real vegetable candles bunched in a bowl or spread out on the table.
Supplies
To make this surreal vegetable candle centerpiece you will need these supplies:
- Pick any food you’d like to make your candles out of. I went with various root vegetables as well as bread for our centerpiece bowl. I love the look of our figs, artichokes & root veggies for an organic brunch look.
- A pack of wicks
- Scissors to cut your wicks to size
- A kitchen skewer to make the wick pilot hole in the veggies.
Instructions
To make these root vegetable candles you’ll start with the kitchen skewer.
Poke it in and push it up through the various vegetables to make a pilot hole for your candle wick.
Send the wick through the hole and set the vegetable in the bowl.
Once all your veggies are set, cut down the wicks to the sizing you’d like.
The brunch table gives a surreal party vibe to a sweet Easter morning table. We also created fun bunny ear wall decor with dollar store tablecloths on the wall behind the table adding to the whimsy and fun.
Light the veggie candles up just before serving the food for a surreal moment to start your easter lunch or brunch off just right.
I really adore the organic look of making candle out of fruits and veggies.
PS. Cherry candles for a summer birthday cake.
